Cookie Cookie Ice Cream was started by Addison and his mother Connie because of Hannah — Addison’s sister — who wanted to work in food service in high school and couldn’t find a single restaurant near her school willing to work with special-needs transition students. Two years after Hannah graduated, the family opened Cookie Cookie Ice Cream at 1815 McKees Rocks Road to be the place that didn’t exist for her: a real food-service job that trains, supports, and respects neuro-diverse staff. They partner with Pennsylvania’s Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and area schools to bring students through the program.
