Chef Jim Rennick has been working tirelessly to keep his pie dreams alive.

A few years ago Jim took over The Fruitful Kitchen from his friend and mentor Cindy and changed the name to Farm House Fresh. 

“At Farm House Fresh, it’s all about quality—hand-cut apples in every pie, a specially crafted crust, and no shortcuts in the baking process.

The bakery uses a professional grade pastry flour, which is a higher performing flour than most are willing to use, that gives our pies their signature crust!

We’ve proudly kept the legacy of The Fruitful Kitchen alive with the same delicious ingredients that made Cindy’s pies a local favorite!”

It wasn’t very long ago, when Cindy was running The Fruitful Kitchen, that she would frequently sell out of her pies.

More recently though, sales haven’t been as great for Farm House Fresh.

Farm House Fresh hopes to find a local restaurant to add Fresh Slices of Pie to their menu!

“We need community help! We’re running low on customers to keep the doors open. Anything you can do to help us stay open and continue serving our community would be a blessing,”  said Chef Jim Rennick.

Chef Jim is not far from deciding to shut down. He told me this face-to-face while talking in his shop on Barnes Street, in New Kensington. 

A single restaurant that orders weekly could make all the difference for Farm House Fresh.
